The Gap Between Knowledge and Action

So true, there is an abundance of information out there on how to retire, make money, change or grow to begin with. Despite this, not much action, or the correct actions are being taken to close the gaps from where someone is, to where they want to head in life. People can be
barking up the wrong tree enthusiastically, and/or
focusing on the wrong things. Yes, have also been in those latter positions before.
There is a huge difference between knowing what to do and actually doing it, and that is where many people are falling into the
gap. Despite their best intentions, this is what is holding these people back from the abundance they truly deserve in their life. A most common saying in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is
"to know and not to do is not to know." Despite many books on health and dieting being published, obesity is rising. This is why. The key is to take the right actions in achieving goals and breaking unwanted habits.
You now know (or have always known) what you need to do to better yourself. Fear of the unknown and resistance to change can be holding you back. Inertia to change. Do not resist life, and just
go with the flow.
Change is uncomfortable in the beginning. Getting an airplane to leave the tarmac to take off to its destination is the hardest part, and this is where such an aircraft uses most of its fuel capacity. Things get much easier when the plane is in the air. Everything is smooth sailing in comparison.
No different to starting a new business, which is like climbing a mountain at first. A lot of hard work and energy is required to get that business going and off the ground. A lot of uphill climbing initially in the form of a lot of prospecting and marketing to name, and once you have reached the peak of the mountain, everything is downhill from there. Pretty breezy, and you suddenly realise what the fuss was all about in the beginning.
Before the change takes place when starting a new business to bring more abundance into your life, it is time to get crystal clear on your desires for wanting such change/s in the first place. Delve beyond the surface, unless your reasons for change are fully explored, they may not be compelling enough to overcome the let downs you may experience in business (and in life); especially earlier on in the piece in the change process, and when engaging in a new project.
When you have ideas, you need to grab the bull by the horns and implement them. If not, regret can creep in due to a lack of faith in implementing the ideas the moment they come into your awareness. You can't always take them back, thanks to the law of diminishing intent. You need to act on them, and make quick decisions without taking unnecessary risks.
Your abundance plan is to know what you need to do, and as Nike says to
"Just do it." Be aware of any pitfalls, and identify specific actions and rewards that will help you stay on course. The last thing when starting any new project, is to all of a sudden apply the brakes when things start to get a little tough. You have to keep the momentum you have built going; otherwise you are wasting time, energy, and you deplete your self confidence. The worse thing you can do to yourself is to start and then quit, start and then quit. This really ruins the pact you made with yourself. Another mess that is a lock on the gate that keeps abundance out.
There will be challenges along the way, however they are appearing on your journey for you to grow and to prosper. I kept affirming to myself early on in my entrepreneurial career seven years ago that
"I know that every problem, every obstacle enables me to grow." This is the one resolve that has kept me going, and has enabled me to live and enjoy the abundance I am living today. Never ever give up. Do not quit under any circumstances. When you want to throw in the towel, or throw it all in, it simply is a sign that you're heading for a breakthrough; and yes breakdowns are precursors to breakthroughs.
The promises that must be honoured first and foremost are the ones you've made to yourself. Integrity with yourself. Integrity is a key foundation to living an abundant life. Persistence. Never give up, and it was that resolve that has put me (and the same to you) where I am right now with all the abundance, joy, happiness, peace, success and prosperity I enjoy today.
Bridging idealism with realism can be very difficult at first. It is where your dream world intersects with your daily life (the daily grind), and reality which is an illusion. Abundance and prosperity is driven by positive results, and what sacrifices are required on your end in order to achieve your goals. Sometimes I need to wake up at 4am to be at the airport at 5am for some of my travels. This is a sacrifice I need to make in order to continue to travel as part of my calling and abundant life. There is no right or wrong, it's just how it is. Suspend judgement. You might like ice cream and chocolate and want to lose weight; however unless you give up both, you won't get the other. Abundant people give up ice cream and chocolate, and naturally gravitate to nicer, more refreshing alternatives (in my opinion) such as fruit and fruit salad treats. Those who are not successful and prosperous give up their dream to be thin. Sure, you can still enjoy chocolate and/or ice cream occasionally, absolutely - and people do.
Remember, the price of lack and poverty is no greater than the price for abundance and prosperity. The effort required to transform a terrible habit into a good habit is no greater than the price of giving up on your dreams, goals, wishes, desires, abundance, success, joy, happiness, peace and prosperity that you deserve.
