When I was a child time seemed to pass too slowly in some situations. It seemed there was so very much time between one Christmas and the next. From one birthday until my next birthday, well that was an eternity. As an adult I view time very differently. I think this is a common experience.

Not enough time
Many adults feel there is never enough time. It may be they want more time for family and friends, hobbies or travelling. Their employment and other responsibilities may take up almost all their time. Some feel they fall into the category of those with Not Enough Time To Enjoy Life . It seems a pity to rush so much you don't enjoy life.

I have collected a few quotes in relation to time. 'Time is more value than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time,' said Jim Rohn, an American motivational speaker and writer. While it can be difficult to get hold of more money, it may be possible to get extra work, make and sell craft items or sell some items through Ebay, Gumtree or a garage sale. Careful budgetting may allow you to save money.

You can't create time
You may be able to make better use of time and find ways to save time but you can't create extra hours. There are only twenty four hours in a day.
It is impossible to add extra hours to a day.

American writer, Denis Waitley, says, 'Time and health are two precious assets that we don't recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted.' I have to agree full heartedly with this sentiment.

The right time
We often try to find the right time to do something, to have a baby, to get a different job, to move house and so on. How do you know when the time is right? Napoleon Hill says, 'Don't wait. The time will never be just right.'

Don't spend too much time thinking bout a thing
Sometimes you just need to make a start or go ahead and do something rather that waiting for 'the right time' or over planning. Bruce Lee believes, 'If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you'll never get it done.'

I know this is true for me when it comes to doing things like getting some painting done around the house. Yes, I need to choose a day when I don't have other plans. A warm, but not hot day is the best for getting the paint to dry. However, if I think about it too much, I won't make a start because it will all seem too hard. I am not keen on actually doing the painting although I love the result. I just need to make a start and once I am committed, I will keep going.

Perfectionists can find it particularly difficult to take that leap of faith and put the wheels in motion to do what it is they want to do. Author and creative director, Paul Arden, expresses this, 'Too many people spend too much time trying to perfect something before they actually do it. Instead of waiting for perfection, run with what you got, and fix it along the way…'

Steve Jobs, American entrepreneur, inventor and industrial designer summed up the importance of time when he said, 'My favorite things in life don't cost any money. It's really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.'
