My Michelle Bridges 12WBT Journey It Begins
Last Sunday, I participated in a fun run to raise money for the McGrath Foundation. I did a 5km fun run (or mostly walk in my case) in 44 minutes. Considering I only had a baby 8 months ago, I was impressed with this accomplishment, but I know I can do better. I am challenging myself to do it again in September and see how much my fitness improves!
This fun run gave me the kick in the butt I needed to re-start my fitness routine. So much so, I actually decided to start my training 1 week early and am please to let you know, I am 2kgs down already! Even though I am getting up early to do the workouts, it gives me more energy throughout the day!
My official Michelle Bridges 12WBT starts today and I've just completed her Burning Bridges workout. Phew - definitely got me moving (and sweating) first thing on a Monday morning and now I feel GREAT! Ready to tackle the day!

I loved the program the first time I did it back in 2011, and I'm so excited that Michelle has actually improved it further by offering workout videos online! The videos use a mix of cardio, strength and tabata (interval training). She begins with a 5 minute warm up, 3 x 10 minute session (with plenty of breathing breaks) and then 5 minutes of core and a cool down. I'm enjoying the mix of training, as last time I simply rotated her 'Crunch Time' DVD's and whilst they offer a great workout, it can get a bit boring doing the same workout over and over.
I'll be moving my updates to 'Weigh in Wednesday's' from now on, so keep an eye out for them.
If you have decided to take this journey with me, share your experiences with me in the comments section or feel free to post any messages of support - I know, there will be times, that I'll need them.
