My Life is a Sitcom

Do you become frustrated with daily life and the odd assortment of people you need to deal with on a regular basis? I know I certainly do. There are a number of ways we could deal with it. We could let it get us down or whine to others about our unfortunate lot - or you could do what I do.
It may seem kind of odd, but I imagine my life as a television sit-com. Think about it - things tend to happen in episodes. There's the one where the car breaks down on the way to a wedding, or the one where your child decides they want to learn to play the drums, or even the one where the new babysitter turns out to be a weirdo...you get the picture.

Throw in a bit of drama and romance and you have all the bases covered.
The people we deal with daily become the characters - the nosy neighbour, the friend who is always mooching off you, the psychotic boss and so on.

There are even special cameo appearances by old school friends, overseas visitors or the new office temp who pops into the picture for a while then disappears for the rest of the series.
If we can maintain a sense of humour through it all, it makes the daily grind a lot easier to cope with - and it can provide some good fodder for writing your blog!

Think about some comedy series you know of with a variety of personalities all thrown together. Somehow they make it work, and sometimes it's their quirky personalities and off-the-wall antics that endear them to us. The difference is that they enter our lives once a week, and once we turn the TV off we're drawn back into our own madness and mayhem, which sadly doesn't have an 'off' button.
But you know - there is another side to this whole concept. Perhaps one of your friends is the one living a sit-com life - and you're one of their characters...but which one. Hmm?
