Homemade Body Scrubs
As the temperature increases, give your skin that extra TLC it needs for looking its best. A good way to keep it looking smooth and healthy is by using body scrubs.
Regular use of body scrubs can reduce the appearance of cellulite and can promote good blood flow to the skin resulting in a healthy glow.
There are many options in the beauty market, however you could try making your own. It requires a few staple ingredients that you might have in your kitchen and you can store it and use it whenever required.
A simple body scrub will have an abrasive such as sugar or salt , a moisturising agent such as an oil or lotion and a scent agent such as fragrant oils or herbs such as mint.
These are a few I regularly use:
Brown Sugar, Coconut and Vanilla Scrub
½ cup Brown sugar
½ cup coconut oil
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix ingredients together. Use on damp skin while in the shower, massage and rinse.
Lemon Sugar Scrub
½ cup sugar
½ cup oil ( olive or almond)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Mix ingredients together. Use on damp skin while in the shower, massage and rinse.
Coffee Body Scrub
1 cup sugar
5 tablespoons coffee grounds
¼ cup oil (olive or almond)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix ingredients together. Use on damp skin while in the shower, massage and rinse.
Lavender Vanilla Scrub
1 cup sugar
½ cup oil ( olive or almond)
½ tsp vitamin E oil
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
a few drops of lavender oil
Mix ingredients together. Use on damp skin while in the shower, massage and rinse.
