Helping Kids Help Themselves
How are your coping strategies in dealing with life? Do you think your childhood had much to do with it?
Inspired Kids Australia an exciting new venture has surfaced in north-west Sydney, Australia, where a couple of women passionate about working with children, want to arm them with life skills so they can better cope throughout their lives with things that throw-you-for-a-six.
Annie Krempin, a childcare educator and Marika Donkin, a paediatric neuropsychologist have got together to help children (ages 6 - 10 years) develop important life skills through fun and creative play based workshops.
These unique 50 minute sessions are aimed at coping with life's ups and downs, communication skills, self reliance, bouncing back, self love and care and include relaxation and meditation techniques.
Annie Krempin says "Our aim is to enhance the way children deal with various emotions and situations to be happy throughout their lives and to hopefully decrease the chance of them suffering from any form of mental illness in the future...we feel that many families will benefit"
She goes on to say: "Life is full of ups and downs but our sense of self worth, our mindsets and our ability to ‘think outside the box’ will help us adapt and thrive. This is what we hope to show children!"
