Asking for Help
Its important to ask for help
Everyone in the world needs help from time to time. Humans are social creatures – that is we’re not built to handle everything on our own. But many people are shy about asking for help, deliberately or not, we see it as a sign of weakness. It’s as if you’re unable to handle things on your own. You might be afraid that you’ll be rejected or laughed at .But asking for help actually shows how strong you are. It takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there and let others in. But you’ll find that when you do, you’ll feel so much better.
It’s crucial to learn to ask for help. It’s way better to learn from other’s mistakes rather than committing those mistakes yourself or worse.
If you enjoy a healthy relationship with your parents and friends, they’re usually the first people to go for help. Even if you think it’s too embarrassing, or that you might get in trouble, remember they only want what’s best for you. Hopefully your relationship with Mum and Dad is one where you can openly ask them stuff. But if not, you can ask grandparents, teachers or other friends.
Even if you decide to go ahead and ask for help, it can be hard to know if you’re actually getting good advice or not. Usually when you ask for help, you are only doing so because you trust them so this is a good enough reason to believe in what they say. You can also recognise if it’s good advice if the person giving it doesn’t benefit from it. Then you know they’re really looking out for you.
The advice you get from someone is a deposit of their wisdom into your mind -That’s a great investment.
