Winter can be frustrating when it comes to piling up the winter weight and not being able to go for walks at 8.00pm around the lake.Even with layers of clothing around you it would be quite an adventure to take.
Winter need not be gloomy and you can beat the blues playing some games indoor and keeping you fit and ready for your summer clothes.
Badminton/Squash: A fun way to shed kilos.A game played for about an hour will make you burn on an average of 200-300 calories approximately.That is like spotting gold :) .Play them twice a week or so and it would be fun .
Ice Skating : Ofcourse you would think you would fall off and that is more than enough to lose weight .Just kidding, but this sport is fun when you pick it up and you would feel like a bird flying on the ground.Try it this winter for a change.
Yoga/Pilates: Yoga is an amazing form of exercise for all seasons and especially during winter.There are Bikram yoga classes where you would need to exercise in a heated room and sweat as much as you would jogging around the lake.You sure will be refreshed burning calories this way.Pilates is a suttle form of excersice where your muscles are stretched and leaves you burning calories without even knowing it.
Dance Classes : Now this is my favorite.Use up all your gym time going for all the dance classes.Be it Zumba or even salsa and you would be feeling great at the end of the class and definetly weigh less on the scales.
Weights Training : Enough to burn some calories, you will need some supervision or guidance if you are doing this for the first time.There are many exercises that you could do with just a gym ball and a 5 kg weight inside the comfort of your own home.You can look them up on the net or you could seek advice from your fitness expert in your gym.
Gym membership is not ideally necessary for all the above form of exercises.You could sign up individually for these classes and stay fit and warm and burn calories while having some fun.
