Everyone loved the movie Rocky. It pumped people up, got the blood pumping and the dreams soaring high. The line It's not how hard you can hit, it's how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward echoed through peoples minds.
And what did Vince Lombardi, history's apparent best NFL coach of all time say? It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up.
Eric Thomas, a former professional American footballer got us thinking about how bad we wanted success. He said;
Most people say they want to be successful, but they don't want it bad. They just kinda' want it.
You don't want it badder then you wanna party. You don't want it as much as you wanna be cool. Most of you don't want success as much as you wanna sleep.
He also said that when you want success as bad as you want to breathe, you will be successful.
This really gets us thinking about just how bad we want the things we say we do, and about how we are spending our time while trying to get them.
Dreaming is not enough. And wanting is not enough. I guess that if you really and truly want something you will sacrifice, you will get back up after you've been knocked down, you won't be afraid of failure and you will just keep pushing forward.
We have learned a lot from the great people of our time; It's ok to fail, but don't become comfortable with it, if you learn from defeat you haven't really lost, and failure is the opportunity to begin again - this time more intelligently. Quotes from Eric Thomas, Zig Ziglar and Henry Ford.
It's also true that whatever you think of yourself you become. We must bear this in mind if we want to succeed.
We've got to have some fight in us.
I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was.
