Resolving Your New Year's Resolution

We're approaching THAT time of year again where we have to make THAT resolution AGAIN. The tradition of coming up with a resolution for the next year seems to be just that - a tradition. And let's face it, how many times are we going to resolve never to eat junk food again? Think about something different. Making a resolution isn't only about promising to do away with bad habits - you can do that any time! Why not tell yourself that you are going to do something cool, something wonderful and just downright awesome next year - A resolution you will look forward to! Try to make a list of things you've always wanted to do and make them an aim for next year.

Here are five different resolutions to get you thinking:

1. Doing your favourite activity, for charity!

"Say what? Is that really possible? What if I love playing video games?" You can always try putting what you are really good at or really love to do to good use, try organizing a competition or a party for people who love doing the same thing as you. Get your favourite charity involved, explain what you want to do and get things rolling!

2. Love taking photos of yourself? Try it in amazing locations!

Every month, you could decide that you want to travel somewhere that neither you or any of your friends have been to before - that you've always wanted to go to. It doesn't have to be far away, it could even be your next door neighbour's house (the one with the state-of-the-art coffee machine). You could make a photo journal for yourself - of places that you'll never forget.

3. Facing a fear!

Has the notion of getting on a rollercoaster made you nauseous just thinking about it? Maybe it's time to put on your brave face and try it out (you never know, it could be the burgers at the theme park that are making you nauseous!). You may just overcome your fear!

4. Sound like a celebrity!

You may not know it, but your voice, with a little work, could make you sound like Eddie Vedder, Taylor Swift or even Barack Obama! It's always fun putting on a voice and entertaining your friends and family. Find out who you can best impersonate and practice with your friends. Good or bad, it will leave them in splits! You could even create a "Celeb Get Together" where you and your friends could all pretend to be someone famous and have a serious discussion about the world economy!

5. Catch up on what you've missed out on!

You can probably do your taxes with your eyes closed, can run your own corporate enterprise or even solve a Rubik's cube in record time, but do you know how to swim or ride a bicycle? There's something we have all missed out on as kids - it's never too late to learn them! Because what is better than a CEO who can do backflips on a trampoline?

These are just a couple of suggestions - Hopefully by now your mind is teeming with interesting and inspiring New Year's resolutions for you to take up!

So, what's your New Year's resolution?
