All of us are bestowed with problems. Everyday problems, issues at work, a straining relationship and we often question why we are in that particular spot.
The worst part of a problem is not even the problem itself but the unknown factor of expiry date. We really don't know when it will be ok or whether it will ever be ok. It's not the 'how' but the 'when' that really drains us out.
Being a problem magnet isn't fun for sure but can it ever be rewarding I wonder.
The very first instance of you having to deal with a problem. It arrives uninvited, unannounced and as a startling surprise. You are at a restaurant or at home or just enjoying an evening. That's when it arrives, boom. You are shaken to a richter 9 on the scales. As you get to the details ,it adds a new dimension to the problem. While you get to thinking deeply about it, you get an aftershock just to add some more to the problem .And that's when we sign frantically for rescue.
Cyclone Thumbelina hits
You can be creative and call your cyclones any name. I called mine Thumbelina. The cyclone period of a problem is extremely hard .Like the quake ( problem) wasn't enough, you once again get shaken to realise that all your friends and family seem to know about it. Their reactions floods your head making the problem look much more bigger that it actually is.
Thanks to people who seem concerned and curious, they will always give suggestions to your problems. Some will underestimate it saying it is not a big deal, some will even tell you to harden up. You really feel like storming out of a party when suddenly the problem manifests itself. Just like you get pushed and pulled in a storm, your problem seems to make you feel like you are on a roller coaster ride.
We often refer to a problem as a 'burning' issue. I guess we say that because the heat it creates and the enormous effect it has on us . Just like fire, it spreads to every corner of your life .It engulfs your self confidence and you almost go to a stage where you feel you want to give up. Unfortunately the fire extinguisher isn't in your reach. You keep asking yourself, 'when will I ever get out of this'. Invariably there will always be a fire engine in the distance that gives you a bit of hope and the negativity created by this fire will soon be under control.
The clouds in the sky You start accepting the fact that problems(clouds) are a part of life ( sky). When you look up, they are there everywhere. They are there 24/7.But you slowly realise that they are not the sky but just passing clouds. They will eventually go away. The clouds ( problems) move and the stars slowly shine. You get to see the sky ( your life) a lot better .It is clear, beautiful and bright.
Your life is as beautiful as the sky. It just takes some time for these clouds to pass away but they surely will. They have to because that's what they are meant to do. Problems are just part of your life, they aren't your life.At the least, they keep the innovative part of your brain thinking for creative solutions.
No matter what your problem is, easy or not, it will fade away. It has to. Mine did and I am dealing with newer ones as days goes and that's what keeps me going.
It's ok if you do not know the solution today, but hang on .When the problem is solved ( it surely will), trust that you will feel proud for staying strong.
