Week 4 already, can you believe it? The past four weeks have flown by and I can really feel myself getting into a good exercise and nutrition routine. I am actually really enjoying the exercise and the buzz that I get from it - so much so, I get a little cranky if I miss a session! How's that for someone who hasn't exercised for over a year!
Michelle calls every 4 weeks, mini-milestone week - where all members are asked to re-do the fitness test that we did back in pre-season. This test comprises of a 1km run, push ups, sit and reach test (for flexibility), a walk sit and a plank test.

This morning, I re-did the 1km run on the way home from dropping my daughter off to preschool - so I was accompanied by an 8 month old in the pram and I am very please to say, I shaved 2 minutes and 15 seconds off my time a month ago - completing 1km in 6 minutes and 56 seconds! Phew - it's such a reward to see the hard work paying off.
Today was also weigh-in day and I am another 1.1kgs down - that means, 6.4kgs in 5 weeks!
This week, I tried to up the intensity of my workouts to burn more calories in the same amount of time. I will continue to do this over the next week and also look for opportunities to increase my incidental exercise.
Food wise, Easter will be a challenge, however, for Easter Sunday lunch I am already looking at healthy choice menu's to introduce to my extended family. I will not deprive myself of chocolate, but simply make smarter chocolate choices (and maybe add in an extra workout, just to be sure!0. For example: I have bought a Lindt dark chocolate bunny for my husband and myself. Dark chocolate is a better choice than milk or white chocolate and by purchasing a small bunny, I am also restricting the quantity available.
