Music speaks a language that everyone can understand, and it soothes the soul. The strumming of a guitar and the beating of a drum both give off the same effect to whoever listens, no matter what part of the world they are from. We each understand what emotion the sound is trying to portray.
And it doesn't even matter if a singer is using a language foreign to you, when they sing you know how they are feeling. I remember hearing Edith Piaf, the 1940's French singer for the first time, and immediately connecting with her music, even though I couldn't understand a word.
Did you know that your heartbeat changes and mimics the music you listen to? Flowers grow faster by listening to music and while working out if you listen to music it measurably improves your performance!
Did you know that none of the Beatles could read music? But they played, and they sang, and they tugged on the heart strings of the entire world! Still to this day.
Research conducted by Scientists at the University of Missouri have recently found that people can boost their mood simply by listening to upbeat music. But we already knew this, didn't we?
I can't think of one person I have come across who does not love music.
So, listen, dance and sing! When it comes to having music in your life, you will always win.
