I'm sure we have all wondered at some stage what things would be like if we hadn't gone down a certain road, hadn't met certain people, or made a different decision.
I have. I have wondered why I did some silly things, and cursed the day I'd met someone or chosen to do something that has forever affected my future. But then I realise that if I hadn't of gone that way then I wouldn't have some of the positive things I have today. It's not all bad. I guess it's just about changing your perspective.
We each are on a journey, and learning different lessons along the way. I think that if I knew back then what I do now I would have chosen another road, but how could I have known without the path I lead which taught me?
We only make the mistakes we do in order to know through experience, and this is the best way to learn. People may warn you all they like about what and what not to do, but we are a curious lot, and tend not to listen to others. We want to do things our own way, and quite rightly so.
I have made many a mistake, but now have a story to go along with the lessons I have learned and the know how I have now.
Regret is a wretched thing, similar to rust. Fix it up before it spreads and give your heart and mind a polish. Be proud of what you know now, and wear that knowledge like a badge you achieved through your own personal battles.
