This hasn't been your typical weather so far this year and we are still experiencing some really warm days.
No matter how much we would like to delude ourselves that the heat is going to go on there is no denying that winter soon will be upon us.
Some love the thought of the cold and instantly are drawn to fantisies of open fires and endless cups of hot chocolate.
Others are not so enthusiastic and can only think of chillblains, colds, and countless other ailments too depressing to think about. Not to mention how much weight will pack on to our hips.
The fact is we are not bears there is no need to go into hibernation and sleep through a really wonderful season. There is no need to bulk up and connect with our inner bear. We can not only keep awake but we can keep moving.
Ok, ok, I admit it is a little tougher to keep you motivation up when you are up at six in the morning, throw open the doors and you are faced with gale forced winds and torrential rain. I am not suggesting that you strap yourself to your pushbike and brave the elements.
What I am suggesting is move your exercise indoors, try something new, and you may even shock a few kilos off due to the change in routine.
How about Hot Yoga?? Inside, 40 degree temperature so you can perspire away whilst pretending you are at the beach on a really hot day.
You have the fantasy and if you stick to it you will have the fact. The fact being that you will have a newly flexible, svelte body for when summer returns. Not to mention the amazing benefits you reap for mind and soul.
What about indoor rock climbing?? Hot yoga and rock climbing are just a couple of the countless indoor exercise options. Do some research and you will surprise yourself at the myriad of alternatives available. The hardest part will be choosing.
That is once you have decided that you don't want to channel your inner bear this winter!
