4 Things You Should Do Every Morning

Not everyone is a morning person, but itís important to start the day out right so youíre not feeling rushed or tempted to hit the snooze button and hide under the covers. These 4 simple things can help kick start your mornings for more productive and happier days.

1. Hydrate your body and skin

After a long nightís sleep, itís important to flush out toxins and replenish your body with a glass of water first thing in the morning. Adding a slice of lemon can help decrease bloating and boost your metabolism for that yummy breakfast youíre about to make, while incorporating a moisturising sunscreen to your morning routine not only helps to wake you up, but also protects your skin and keeps it more supple and glowy for longer.

2. Do some light exercise

Whether itís going for a morning surf in the quiet ocean or stretching the sleep from your limbs, exercising is a great way to get your heart rate going and wake up your mind and body. You can also use this time to collect your thoughts and mentally prepare yourself for the day ahead, try some meditation, or simply just bask in the quiet hours.

3. Make yourself a delicious breakfast

If you have the luxury of time, whipping up a healthy breakfast of eggs, toast, avocado and mushrooms and sitting down to enjoy it with your favourite cup of coffee is a calm way to ease into the day. If youíre in a rush or not that much of a breakfast person, opt for preparing a nutritious smoothie filled with wholesome ingredients the night before to grab on the go the next day. Try blending pineapples, oranges, mangoes, frozen banana, and coconut milk together for a tropical breakfast option that brings to mind images of seaside vacations.

4. Make your bed

Itís surprising how such a simple act in the morning can help boost your morning productivity. Making your bed gets you in the positive mindframe of completing tasks and fosters a sense of accomplishment that will carry on throughout the rest of your morning. Taking five to ten minutes to make your bed also means that you can collapse into an invitingly welcoming bed at the end of the day.
